Documents Required For New Connection
When submitting the online application form for new connection, you need to gather the following documents:
Ownership Evidence Letter
This verifies that you are the owner of the premises for which you are applying for a new electricity connection.
Sworn Statement
This statement confirms that no connection is present on premises.
Payment of Outstanding Dues
If there are any outstanding dues related to the previous connection, then it is important to pay before applying for a new connection.
Certificate of No Objection
This confirms that there is no objection to installing a new connection.

Estimated Time For New Connection
The time required for a new connection generally depends on the category of connection. According to the load there are 3 main categories of MEPCO electricity new connections.
Category – 1 (Up to 15 kW)
To get a category-1 connection, here are some steps with estimated number of days:

Category – 2 (16 to 70 kW / 400 volts)
The connection process of category-2 is almost the same as category-1, but it can take 44 days to complete category-2 connection.
Category – 3 (71 to 500 kW / 400 volts)
Just like category-1 and 2, there are the same steps for the category-3 connection. For this category, the time from the date of application submission and meter placement is up to 73 days.
